UpToDate @ WCU

UpToDate is an evidence-based clinical decision support database. It provides evidence and clinical guidance at your fingertips. The resource is available through the UpToDate website and Mobile App. 

This UpToDate guide provides information on how to access this resource through the WCU Library.


Access to UpToDate is provided to current active WCU students enrolled in our Post-Licensure Nursing, Pharmacy, and Physician Assistant Programs.

Creating Your UpToDate Account for Students

Steps
1)

Click the following link to access UpToDate. You may be prompted to sign in with your WCU email address and password. If prompted complete the two-factor authentication process to complete the sign-in process.

If you have previously logged into another WCU resource, such as Canvas, you may be automatically redirected to UptoDate without needing to sign in again.

If this is your first time using UpToDate, you will need to complete the registration form and click on the submit button.

If you have previously registered, click on the log-in link.

You have now completed your UpToDate Registration! 
Every 90 days, you will be required to authenticate through the WCU Library SSO process. For more information, visit our FAQ.

Visit the UpToDate Mobile App page for instructions on how to install the app on your device.

 

Merging UpToDate Accounts

You may have more than one UpToDate account if you created your account prior to June 8, 2023. Merging these accounts enables you to keep all of the CME/CE/CPD credits that you earn in one place.

  1. While logged in to one account, click on Your name in the upper right corner.
  2. Click My Account in the drop down menu
  3. Select Merge Accounts from the menu options.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the merge. 
    1. Log in using the username/password for the secondary account.
    2. A table showing the two accounts will be displayed. If you want to proceed with the merge, click the submit button.
      1. The Source Account will become inactive after you choose to consolidate. 
      2. This operation is not reversible.
