Pharmacy (PharmD)

Library and web resources to support the PharmD degree program at West Coast University

Full text of journal articles (after graduation)

The WCU Library only continues your access to online resources such as ebooks and journal databases for up to one year after graduation in order to help you study for your license exams. (The WCU Library does not loan print books, after graduation.) After that, the hospital or clinic where you work might offer access to journal articles or interlibrary loans.

Otherwise, you can try copying and pasting the title of the article into Google Scholar to see if the article is available for free on PubMed Central or another website.

You can get a free library card at your local public library, so that you can order a printout of the article through interlibrary loan; it might cost you just a few dollars, but that's still a lot less than paying the full price the journal is asking for an article.

You can also use your public library card to sign in to the journal databases on their website, but these generally include popular magazines, not peer-reviewed medical journals. For example, Los Angeles Public Library's Research and Homework Databases include Gale OneFile: Health & Medicine and Gale OneFile: Nursing and Allied Healththat contain a small percentage of the number of titles in CINAHL or Medline.
